On May 27, 2010, Glenn E. Benckendorf, one of the founding partners of Benckendorf & Benckendorf, P.C., officially retired after over 50 years as an attorney.

Born and raised in Streator, Illinois, Glenn served in the U.S. Navy for two years before attending and graduating from Eureka College in Eureka, Illinois, and Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, where he received his J.D.

Glenn practiced law in Pekin, Morton and Peoria, until his son, David, entered the legal profession in 1981, at which time they established the firm of Benckendorf & Benckendorf, P.C. In 1987, his younger son, Jim, also joined the firm.

While practicing law, Glenn was an owner and president of Barrett Industrial Supply Company and Tonemaster Electronics Company and an owner and officer of Georgetown Life Insurance Company and Exchange Investment Company.

During his retirement, Glenn looks forward to spending more time on the golf course and with his family, but will also work part time for Hometown Title, Inc., as a Title Examiner.
